Social Media Manager
Location: Remote

About the Role
As a Social Media Manager with Ignite Sports Media, you'll be the digital voice of Ontario-based sports teams, primarily focusing on minor and junior hockey. You'll create engaging content, build community, drive fan engagement, and tell the stories that matter to players, families, and supporters.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies across platforms including Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
-
Create, schedule, and publish daily content including game previews, live updates, highlights, player features, and team announcements
-
Monitor real-time game action and produce engaging live social content during games
-
Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster positive community interactions
-
Track analytics and provide regular reporting on content performance and audience growth
-
Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and graphic designers to plan content calendars
-
Stay current with social media trends, platform updates, and sports content best practices
-
Coordinate with team management, coaches, and players for content opportunities
-
Manage multiple team accounts simultaneously while maintaining brand consistency
Qualifications
Required:
-
Strong knowledge of hockey (rules, terminology, culture) and familiarity with minor/junior hockey in Ontario
-
Experience managing social media accounts, preferably in sports
-
Excellent written communication skills with ability to write engaging, error-free copy quickly

Deep understanding of major social media platforms, their algorithms, and best practices

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and game days

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Basic photo and video editing skills
Preferred:

Knowledge of additional sports (baseball, basketball, lacrosse, etc.)

Experience with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Later, Sprout Social, etc.)

Experience working directly with sports organizations or teams

Graphic Designer
Location: Remote

About the Role
Join Ignite Sports Media as a Graphic Designer and create the visual identity that defines Ontario sports teams. You'll design everything from game day graphics and player features to season tickets and championship banners, working in a fast-paced environment where your work reaches thousands of passionate fans.
Key Responsibilities

Design game day graphics including lineups, score updates, countdowns, and promotional materials

Create player spotlight graphics, stat cards, milestone celebrations, and roster announcements

Develop season-long visual campaigns including playoff branding and special event materials

Design print materials such as programs, posters, tickets, and signage

Maintain and evolve team brand guidelines while ensuring consistency across all materials

Produce quick-turnaround graphics during live games for immediate social media posting

Collaborate with social media managers to plan and execute content strategies

Create templates and systems for recurring content needs

Design merchandise concepts and promotional materials

Work with multiple teams simultaneously while maintaining distinct brand identities
Qualifications
Required:

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite & Canva (Photoshop, Illustrator)

Strong portfolio demonstrating sports design or dynamic, bold visual work

1-3 years of graphic design experience

Understanding of design principles including typography, color theory, and composition

Ability to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines

Knowledge of hockey and general sports terminology

Strong communication skills and ability to take creative direction

Photographer/Videographer

About the Role
As a Photographer/Videographer with Ignite Sports Media, you'll capture the intensity, emotion, and excitement of Ontario hockey. From game-winning goals to behind-the-scenes moments, your work will tell the visual stories that connect teams with their communities. You'll shoot live action at arenas across Ontario and create compelling video content that brings teams to life.
Key Responsibilities

Shoot live game action from ice level and arena positions, capturing key moments, plays, and celebrations

Produce high-quality photo galleries from each game for immediate social media and web publication
-
Film and edit video content including game highlights, player interviews, hype videos, and promotional content
-
Create behind-the-scenes content showing team culture, practices, and off-ice moments
-
Capture team photos, headshots, and promotional photography
-
Edit photos and videos quickly for same-day publication when required
-
Manage and organize digital asset libraries
-
Collaborate with social media managers and designers to fulfill content needs
-
Operate camera equipment in various arena conditions and lighting situations
-
Travel to away games and special events as needed
Qualifications
Required:
-
Professional photography and/or videography experience (2+ years preferred)
-
Strong portfolio demonstrating sports action photography and/or video work
-
Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless camera systems and lenses
-
Experience shooting in challenging lighting conditions (arena/indoor sports)
-
Video editing skills using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve

Photo editing proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop
-
Knowledge of hockey including rules, positioning, and ability to anticipate action

Reliable transportation to travel to various arena locations across Ontario

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for games

Own professional camera equipment (or ability to work with provided equipment)
